Srinagar is the summer capital of India Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir. Srinagar is dominated by many waterways and rivers including Jhelum River, Dal Lake, and Nageen Lake. The domination of the lakes and rivers acts as an add-on to the climate and weather of this lovely place, as it remains fluent for the entire year. The city is extended over and area of 1,585 sq. km. Srinagar is famous for its natural environment, gardens, waterfronts, and houseboats. Apart from these, Srinagar is also famous for the dry fruits & Kashmiri handicrafts like embroidered shawls & dress material hand-woven silks. Towards the north of Srinagar, one of the largest fresh water lakes is located named Wular Lake and Manasbal. However, Srinagar is called the cultural heritage of India

To reach Srinagar, tourists may adopt any of the modes like air, road, water, or railway. The trains to Srinagar are easily available on the metro cities like Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, and even to some small districts of states. Srinagar is one of the popular stations in Jammu And Kashmir.

The flights are also available from every airport of India either direct or in indirect. The airport is also available in the city named, Sheikh Ul-Alam International Airport. Even, the visitor may book out a cab from there city as the National highways have linked the city to all the states.

Srinagar experiences a pleasant weather with soothing temperature throughout the year. But still, the best months for tourism are from April to October. Even, the tourists may visit over there during autumn months i.e. from September to November. However, the place gets its beauty being magnified during the monsoons.

Shalimar Bagh

In Srinagar, the best place that glorifies its beauty the most is Mughal gardens strolling through the terraced hillsides, Shalimar Bagh. The garden was created by Mughal Emperor, Jahangir for his wife, Nur Jahan. The Mughal Garden is earlier known for the Mughal Horticulture and it is known as the ‘Crown of Srinagar’. The layout of the garden has been adopted from the Islamic garden layout, also known as Persian garden

Dal Lake

Dal Lake is the second largent lake after Wular Lake in the Indian Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir. This lake is also known as ‘Lake of Flowers’, ‘Jewel in the crown of Kashmir’ or ‘Srinagar Jewel’. This lake is one of the important sources of commercial operations like fishing and water plant harvesting. Here, the tourists may get houseboats on rent to live, known as shikaras. Even, there are many hotels situated within the walking distance from the shoreline of the lake. The shoreline of the lake is visible from the Mughal garden, & Nishat bagh.

Indira Gandhi Memorial Tulip Garden

One of the most famous and largest gardens of Srinagar is Indira Gandhi Memorial Tulip Garden also named as tulip garden resembling the floriculture center. This garden is located on the foothills of Zabarwan Range. This garden was created to enhance the floriculture and increase the tourism of Kashmir. Not only tulips, but there are many other species of flowers like hyacinths, daffodils, and ranunculus.

Pari Mahal

Pari Mahal is an broad example of the Islamic Architecture and the art of patronage prevailed during the Mughal reign of Shah Jahan. This place is also located over the Zabarwan hills.

Hazratbal Masjid

Hazaratbal Masjid is considered to be the holiest muslim shrine of Kashmir, and is located to the Northern banks of the Dal Lake. This place contains the relic, called the Moi-e-Muqqadas i.e. the Prophe Muhammad’s hair. Shankaracharya Temple

The other name of Shankaracharya temple is Jyeshteshwara temple, located on the Shankaracharya hills on Zabarwan range, so as the name resembles. This temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva.
